To start, I am a ‘type A personality.’ I am not a journalist. I am not a blogger – ok, yes it’s a blog but I am not a writer. Treat and read my posts as if you saw my notepad strategy notes. I’m writing to make observations about real life, business, branding, marketing, and opportunities. I’m also writing to share the local market consumer perspective in a modern surburban non-major metropolitan market statistical area (MSA.) While LA is the nearest MSA, our city represents 100 others surrounding LA and we certainly have a different demographic and physchographic profile.
I would expect marketing, advertising, and branding professionals to find this blog of interest. I will talk about what I see around me. I will talk about what I like and what I think can be improved. I’m sharing, giving constructive criticism, maybe some gripes, all representing opportunities to others for improving their own products and services. I want your feedback, a dialogue.
My Demographic Profile;
I am a tech enthusiast living in Southern California. I’m not a programmer, I’m a marketer. I own a small business. I am in the age range of 35 – 45 years old. I am very motivated to purchase products that make life easier. I try new technology weekly and adopt (at least for a while) tools that allow me to enjoy a more productive life. I have two children under the age of eight and I am happily married.
Each month I’ll add results of personality and preference details to help you fine tune my opinions and observations. Hopefully, my ideas and opinions will help other marketers to learn more about a “type A personality” in a suburban environment. It’s ultimately common sense. But sometimes even the experts get too close to the problem. Most marketers and consultants that drive decisions for large business live in major cities and don’t even realize how their business, service, or products are presented or receievd into a midsize city with populations under 750,000.
